These dairy-free Rice Krispie treats bring back all the nostalgic joy — gooey, chewy, and perfectly sweet — without a hint of butter. A simple swap with vegan margarine or coconut oil makes them a treat everyone can enjoy.

  1. In a large saucepan, melt dairy-free margarine or coconut oil over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and quickly stir in Rice Krispies cereal until well-coated.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch pan.
  5. Press evenly using a spatula (lightly greased to prevent sticking).
  6. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
