  4. Add chopped tomatoes, water/broth, potatoes, and brown sugar. Bring to boil, then cover and simmer 20-25 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  5. Stir in cream or coconut milk and chickpeas. Simmer 5 minutes more until heated through. Season with salt and pepper.
