Classic frozen French fries become extra crispy and golden in the air fryer—no extra oil or pre-thawing needed! Perfect as a quick side dish or snack, this method works for shoestring, crinkle, steak, waffle, or curly fries.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C).
  2. Arrange fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket—do not overcrowd.
  3. Spray fries lightly with nonstick spray if desired, but most frozen fries have enough oil already.
  4. Air fry straight, crinkle, curly, or steak fries for 10–15 minutes, turning or shaking the basket halfway through.
  5. Waffle and shoestring fries: air fry 8–11 minutes.
  6. Crinkle cut: usually 12–15 minutes.
  7. Steak fries: 10–15 minutes.
  8. When the fries are hot, crisp, and golden, transfer to a bowl and season with salt while hot for best flavor.
