This Shrimp Chowder is rich, creamy, and loaded with tender shrimp, potatoes, sweet corn, and smoky bacon. It’s the perfect cozy meal for a chilly night—quick to make, packed with flavor, and satisfying enough to be the main course. Serve with crusty bread or oyster crackers!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large pot, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving some drippings.
  2. Add butter to the pot. Sauté onion and garlic until soft and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Stir in potatoes, corn, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 12–15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  4. Add shrimp and cook for 3–5 minutes, until pink and cooked through. Stir in cream and milk. If thicker chowder is desired, whisk flour with a little cold milk first, then add.
  5. Stir in Old Bay, salt, and pepper to taste. Garnish with bacon, parsley, or green onions.
