Cook Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
Sauté Aromatics:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant but not browned (about 1 minute). Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
Add Swiss Chard:
Add the chopped Swiss chard and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring often, until wilted (about 3–5 minutes).
Combine Pasta & Sauce:
Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss to combine with the chard mixture. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen the sauce.
Season & Serve:
Stir in lemon juice and zest if using. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Serve with grated Parmesan on top.
