Convert grams or ounces to US cups, tablespoons, teaspoons and milliliters for any ingredient. Pick an ingredient, type the amount, and the calculator converts both ways instantly using accurate culinary densities.
Results are based on average ingredient densities. Brands and packing levels vary, so treat the numbers as a close estimate.

100 grams of all-purpose flour is about 0.83 cups (roughly 5/6 of a US cup). Because flour is lightly packed, most bakers round this to about 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon. Bread flour is slightly heavier, so 100g is about 0.79 cups, while cake flour is lighter at about 0.88 cups.
One US cup of granulated sugar weighs about 200 grams. Packed brown sugar is heavier at roughly 220 grams per cup, while powdered (confectioners) sugar is much lighter at about 120 grams per cup.
A cup measures volume, while a gram measures weight, and every ingredient has a different density. A cup of water weighs 240 grams, but a cup of rolled oats weighs only about 90 grams and a cup of honey weighs around 340 grams. That is why a grams to cups calculator uses a separate density for each ingredient instead of a single universal number.
One US cup of butter weighs about 227 grams, which is equal to 2 standard US butter sticks (each half-cup stick is roughly 113 grams).
It depends on the ingredient: 250 grams is about 2.08 cups of all-purpose flour, about 1.25 cups of granulated sugar, and about 1.04 cups of water or milk.
